Most people who find this program are in one of three places.

See if any of these sound familiar.

Place One

You've never tried therapy or coaching. You've thought about it โ€” but it's felt too open-ended, too vague, too unclear what you're actually signing up for. This is for you: strategic personal growth work with transparency, structure, and a clear outcome.

Place Two

You've spent years โ€” maybe decades โ€” in therapy. You've processed and explored. You know the childhood wounds, the relational templates, the protective mechanisms. And yet nothing has changed. You're tired of talking, and ready for traction.

Place Three

You operate with high autonomy and high responsibility โ€” running your own work, your own pacing, your own priorities. You're mission-driven and self-directed. And the weight of always being the one deciding has started to outpace your systems for handling it.

What This Is

This isn't therapy. It also isn't generic life coaching. It's eight focused weeks of evidence-based, therapy-informed coaching that does more than create insight. It identifies your strengths and growth opportunities, defines your truth, illuminates your real goals, and links it all to clear, scaffolded action for how to get where you want to go.

Ready to Grow?

Eight sessions. One-on-one. With a licensed therapist trained in coaching psychology.

  • Not group sessions
  • Not self-guided
  • Not a workbook with video modules

Eight real conversations with a real person โ€” a fully licensed clinician with the depth of a therapist and the structure of a trained coach. Together, you'll do the work of understanding who you are, naming what you want, uncovering what's been in your way, and building the plan that gets you there.

What to Expect

A clear beginning. A clear endpoint. A clear path forward.

There's a reason most people hesitate before starting coaching or therapy. It's not that they don't want to grow. It's that open-ended, indefinite commitment feels like a black box. You don't know what you're signing up for, how long it'll take, or what you'll actually walk away with.

So we built something different.

Eight sessions. A defined timeline. A specific framework. A fixed cost. And a clear endpoint where you can decide, with full information, whether to continue.

In that structured stretch, you'll gain three things you don't have right now:

  • A clear picture of the gaps between where you are today and the life you actually want.
  • Visibility into the patterns and core wiring that have quietly been running the show.
  • A specific understanding of what's been in your way โ€” and exactly what to do about it.

By Session 8, you'll know where you're going, what your next step is, and how to take it. You can continue working with your coach, move into another Growing Self experience, or carry it forward on your own.

No indefinite relationship. No open-ended commitment. A real beginning, a real ending, and a real path forward.

The Framework

Here's how the eight sessions unfold.

Your coach isn't winging it. Every session has a place in a defined framework โ€” one that moves you from clarity to self-awareness to action to integration, in the order those things need to happen for change to actually stick.

01
Session 1

Clarity & Direction

You and your coach will meet, map the obstacles you're aware of, and get clear on how the process works. You'll leave Session 1 with a sense of relief โ€” someone finally gets it, and you finally have a structured way forward.

02
Sessions 2 - 4

Discovery & Exploration

This is where you start to understand yourself โ€” not just your patterns, but the deeper why. Together, you'll explore your values, your wiring, and a clear vision for what you want. By the end of this phase, you'll have the foundation from which to build.

03
Sessions 5 & 6

Uncovering Hidden Obstacles

Now that you know what you want, you'll map what's been in the way. Your coach will help you identify patterns, gaps, and the invisible roadblocks. This is the phase where the word "stuck" stops being vague and starts becoming specific.

04
Sessions 7 & 8

Your Roadmap Comes Together

This is where everything converges. You'll leave these sessions with a concrete, step-by-step plan: exactly what to do to overcome old obstacles, dismantle self-defeating patterns, and step boldly into the next chapter of your life.

05
Moving Forward

Close or Continue

A real ending. A look at what's changed. And a personalized continuation pathway: keep working with your coach, move into another Growing Self experience, or take it forward on your own. Insight becomes action. Action becomes momentum.

Tangible Deliverables

What you'll leave with.

This isn't process for its own sake. By Session 8, you walk away with three things you can use.

01

A Personal Case Conceptualization

A written synthesis of your values, wiring, patterns, and growth opportunities โ€” built collaboratively with your coach and grounded in evidence-based assessment (VIA Strengths, CliftonStrengths, values inventory, and others tailored to you). The kind of clarity most people don't get even after years of unstructured work.

02

A Scaffolded Action Plan

A concrete, written roadmap that translates your insight into next steps โ€” not vague intentions, but specific process steps (habits and routines) and performance steps (measurable markers). Designed so you can keep building from it long after the eight weeks end.

03

A Continuation Pathway

A clear, personalized recommendation for what comes next: continue working with your coach in private practice, move into a specialized Growing Self program, get referred to therapy or other appropriate support if that's what you need, or carry it forward on your own. All of those are wins.

The Coaches

Fully licensed clinicians. Coaching-trained. Supervised throughout.

Every coach in this program is a fully licensed clinician โ€” psychologists, LMFTs, LCSWs, and LPCs โ€” completing the supervised practicum phase of an NBCC-accredited coach training program. Below, what that actually means.

Clinical Depth

Years of clinical training and licensure mean your coach can recognize patterns, hold complexity, and meet what's actually present โ€” not just what's easy to surface.

Coaching Structure

NBCC-accredited coursework on top of clinical training means your coach can translate insight into a structured, forward-moving process with concrete deliverables.

Direct Mentorship

Coaches receive direct supervision and mentorship from Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby throughout the practicum. Your work is supported by an entire clinical infrastructure, not delivered in isolation.

Ethical Practice

Licensed clinicians work under professional ethical codes that bind them to their license โ€” not just the looser standards governing coaching alone. That's a meaningful difference.

Why is this $49 per session instead of $200โ€“$300? Because coaches in this program are completing the supervised practicum hours required for their Board Certified Coach credential. You get expert-caliber work under direct clinical mentorship. They get the supervised practice their credential requires. It's a structurally good arrangement for everyone involved.

An Important Distinction

This is coaching. It's not a substitute for therapy.

Coaching and therapy serve different purposes. Coaching is designed to help you build clarity, structure, and forward motion. Therapy is designed to treat clinical mental health conditions and process trauma. Both are valuable. They are not interchangeable.

What makes this program different is that every coach here is also a fully licensed clinician. That doesn't turn coaching into therapy โ€” but it does mean your coach has the clinical training to recognize when what you're working on would be better served by therapy or specialized care, and the professional infrastructure to help you find the right next step.

If clinical mental health treatment is what you need, your coach will tell you directly and help you get there. Not as a failure of the program, but as a feature of working with someone clinically trained. Coaching here complements therapy where it makes sense; it doesn't pretend to replace it.

Many people who join this program continue with their coach in a long-term coaching relationship after the eight weeks end. Some move into specialized programs at Growing Self. Some are referred to therapists in our professional network. Some take their plan and carry it forward on their own. The structure is designed to point you toward whatever you actually need.

From People Just Like You

"The best thing I ever did"

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…
"I'd been in therapy for six years. I understood myself better than anyone I knew. What I didn't understand was why understanding wasn't enough. This was the first eight weeks where the gap between knowing and doing actually closed."
โ€” Rachel, Denver
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…
"I was in the middle of a divorce I didn't want. I couldn't see past the next week. The structure of knowing I had eight sessions on the calendar, with someone who knew what she was doing โ€” that alone was something to hold on to. By week six, I was planning a life I actually wanted."
โ€” Marisa, Austin
โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…
"I had tried therapy twice before and it hadn't clicked. This was different. The coaching lens โ€” the forward-motion part of it โ€” was what I hadn't known to ask for. I wish I'd found it five years ago."

Honest Fit Check

Is this the right fit?

A clear-eyed look at who this is โ€” and isn't โ€” for.

This is for you if:

  • You're dissatisfied with your current reality โ€” your feelings, your relationships, your career, your sense of direction โ€” but you don't even know what to do differently to make things better.
  • You want structure. You want a framework. You want to trust that the work you're doing is productive, and will lead to different outcomes rather than endless processing.
  • You're drawn to working with a fully licensed clinician who also brings a coaching lens โ€” the emotional depth of therapy plus the forward motion of coaching.
  • You operate with high autonomy and high responsibility, and you need a structured space to think clearly about what you're actually doing and where you're headed.
  • You want to understand yourself better: not just what you do, but why, and what's been holding you back.
  • You're looking for a positive, empowering experience with a skilled professional who will help you develop a newfound respect for your strengths, your resilience, and your power.

This isn't for you if:

  • You're in active mental health crisis or need clinical treatment for a diagnosable condition. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy. Your coach is a licensed clinician and can help refer you to appropriate care if that becomes clear during your work together โ€” but this program itself isn't designed for clinical mental health treatment.
  • You're looking for couples counseling โ€” this is individual work only.
  • You want a very specialized focus (heartbreak recovery, career transitions with deep industry expertise, premarital counseling). Growing Self has separate programs and specialist coaches for those.
  • You're looking for advice or instruction. Coaching helps you build your own internal scaffolding; it doesn't tell you what to do.
A Personal Note

I built this for people like you.

Over twenty-plus years of practice, I've watched a pattern repeat itself hundreds of times.

Someone arrives feeling stuck. They've been trying. They've been working on it. Some have done years of therapy; some have never set foot in a therapist's office. But they all have one thing in common: they've tried everything they know how to try, and they keep getting the same frustrating result. And underneath the exhaustion of that, there's usually the same quiet question: "What am I missing?"

If that's you, what will help most isn't open-ended exploration โ€” which is what you'll find in a traditional therapist's office. It's also not generic coaching that hands you goals without ever looking at what's actually been in the way.

You deserve something different: a therapy-informed approach with the emotional depth to meet the real complexity of your life, and the structure of evidence-based coaching to translate what you learn into action.

The psychological insight of a therapist, plus the clear path forward of a coach.

That's what the next eight weeks are designed to do. Together, you'll get visibility into the patterns and wiring that have been quietly running the show. You'll name โ€” sometimes for the first time โ€” the obstacles that have been holding you back. And you'll leave with a concrete, specific plan for the life you actually want to be living.

My coaches are the real deal. Every one of them is a fully licensed clinician โ€” psychologists, LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCs โ€” who has completed the coursework for their Board Certified Coach credential through my NBCC-accredited training program. They are not beginners. They are experienced clinicians leveling up their practice, working under direct mentorship from me throughout this engagement.

I want to say one more thing directly. This is coaching, not therapy. If what you actually need is therapy, your coach will tell you and help you find it. That's not a failure of the program โ€” it's what working with a clinically trained coach makes possible. Many people need both at different times, and there's no shame in any of it.

You don't have to have it all figured out before you start. That's what the next eight weeks are for. Your job isn't to figure out if you deserve this. Your job is to say yes.

How Cohorts Work

A structured cohort, with a clear start and end.

Our cohorts open five times a year, and each coach takes a small caseload of practicum clients. That's not marketing scarcity โ€” it's the structural reality of how a supervised, cohort-based practicum works. Once coaches are matched with their clients, we close enrollment for the cycle and the next one opens.

If the current cohort is full when you reach out, you'll be invited into the next one. There's no pressure to make a rushed decision. When you're ready, we'll be here.

Honest Answers

Questions you might be sitting with.

How is this different from therapy?

Therapy is for treatment. It is designed to help you heal from traumatic experiences, restore functioning, and treat clinical mental health conditions. Coaching is for development. It is designed primarily to help you get clarity on who you are, what you want, and what your "gaps" are. Then you can develop new practices and take actions that will improve your performance personally and professionally, so that you can attain your desired outcomes and build forward. They are not interchangeable. Therapy is not the same thing as coaching, and coaching is not a substitute for therapy. Because your coach is a licensed clinician completing advanced coach training, they can hold both registers โ€” the emotional depth of therapy and the forward motion of coaching โ€” and recognize when therapy is what you actually need. If that becomes clear, they will tell you directly and help refer you to appropriate care.

What if I'm not sure whether I need coaching or therapy?

This is a very common question, and a fair one. As a general guide: if you're working on life problems (clarity, direction, patterns, sustainable change, building forward), coaching tends to fit. If you're working on clinical mental health symptoms (active depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, eating disorders, substance use), therapy is the right starting place. Many people benefit from both at different times. Because every coach in this program is a licensed clinician, they can help you sort out which one fits your situation now โ€” and connect you with appropriate care if therapy is what you need.

What if I don't click with my coach?

You can request a different coach for any reason within the first two weeks โ€” no questions asked. We'd rather match you with someone who feels right than lose you to a mismatch we could have fixed.

How is scheduling handled?

You'll schedule your sessions directly with your coach, at times that work for you both. Evenings and weekends are widely available. Sessions are virtual.

What if I can't make all eight sessions?

Life happens. Sessions can be rescheduled within the cohort window. If you need to miss a week, you can make it up with your coach at no additional cost.

Is this covered by insurance?

No โ€” this is coaching, not therapy. Coaching is not a medically necessary treatment and therefore not insurance-eligible. That said, at $49 per session, many people find the out-of-pocket cost lower than their therapy copay, for non-clinical growth work.

What happens after the eight weeks?

You'll leave Session 8 with a personalized continuation plan. Many clients choose to continue working with their coach in a private-practice capacity after the program ends โ€” often at a preferred rate for program graduates. Others move into one of our specialized programs. Some are referred to therapy or other specialized support if that's what their case conceptualization revealed. Some complete the eight weeks and feel they have what they need. All of those outcomes are wins.

Can I choose my coach?

We handle matching based on what you share in your post-enrollment intake. Our coaches are all fully licensed clinicians who've completed the coursework for their Board Certified Coach credential โ€” you're in good hands with any of them. If the match doesn't feel right in your first sessions, you can request a different coach at no cost and we'll move you to a different coach if availability allows.

What if I need to cancel?

If you decide within 48 hours of your first session that this isn't the right fit, we'll refund you in full. After that point, we'll refund any unused sessions if you're referred out of the program or choose to discontinue.

Who supervises the coaches?

Coaches in this program are supervised directly by Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby โ€” licensed psychologist, LMFT, board-certified coach, and founder of Growing Self. They are completing the supervised practicum hours required for their Board Certified Coach credential through Growing Self's NBCC-accredited training program. They are not unsupervised practitioners; they are experienced clinicians working within an active clinical infrastructure.

There's a version of your life eight weeks from now that's lighter, clearer, and moving forward.

You can keep thinking about it. Or you can start.
