The Group Private Practice Experience — For All.

Ten years ago, I started Growing Self with one non-negotiable belief: therapists shouldn't have to sacrifice their wellbeing to do this work. Revolutionary, right? (Sadly, yes.) Burned out, traumatized, on-the-brink clinicians found shelter here: Wraparound support for their mental and emotional wellbeing, professional development, and financial prosperity.... in an environment that put them first.

Apparently, that's unusual.

I'm an experienced clinical supervisor, and here's the truth nobody says out loud: As soon as you get licensed, you're totally on your own. Holding hard things, carrying the weight of so much responsibility in ambiguous (sometimes scary) situations, expected to figure it all out, all while trying to start a business as a solo-preneur... with zero training or support for business success. Talk about anxiety!

No wonder therapists are burning out left and right. It's not sustainable.

And there are not great options: Join an agency for the support... for low pay and punishing caseloads. Attempt a private practice, to become isolated and financially anxious. Join a group practice that (hopefully) meets your needs, but collects 40% of your session revenue in return.

The Growth Collective solves all these problems, and turns anxiety, overwhelm, and isolation into a sustainable, satisfying, successful career.

Our membership provides:

LOVE: Get plugged into a small consultation group of likeminded professionals that meets live every month, allowing you to build an authentic professional support system.

SUCCESS: Monthly private practice success coaching that is tailored to you. We'll help you clarify attainable goals, identify your niche, and provide personalized feedback and advice to attract and retain great clients, and grow a scalable business.

If the idea of marketing, sales, and business building makes you feel exhausted, I get it. (It's a full time job.) We can solve that problem for you too, by helping you build a valuable referral network, or even connecting you directly to Growing Self clients — eager to work with a therapist just like you.

GROWTH + JOY: Monthly CEU trainings for the modern therapist, eager to stay excited about new developments in the field and passionate about developing a valuable specialized niche that prioritizes your wellbeing.

SECURITY + SUPPORT: Monthly consultation sessions with an experienced clinical supervisor to dig deep into tough cases, tricky ethics, and illuminate the self-of-therapist blind spots and growth opportunities that we all have.

All the things the best-of-the-best group practices provide while allowing you to keep your independence, and your money.

This is your professional home. Where brilliant clinicians hold each other through the hard stuff. Where you build the practice you want AND get the support you need. Where your well-being comes first, always.

Sustainable. Satisfying. Supported.

You've been doing this alone long enough.

Welcome home. ❤️

Your Home Base Group: Where Isolation Ends and Belonging Begins

What Saves Therapists When Everything Falls Apart

Let's talk about what isolation actually costs therapists.

Not just loneliness. Not just burnout. Actual risk.

When you're alone with a crisis case that has tricky ethics and you need to act fast, you can make the wrong call. When you're carrying vicarious trauma from a client's story and have nowhere to process it, your judgment gets clouded. When you lose a client to suicide and have to face that grief alone, something inside you breaks.

Isolated therapists don't just suffer emotionally. They make mistakes.

You need people who know you. Who love you enough to say something when you're not seeing clearly. Who you can text at 9 PM when a client just disclosed something that has you terrified about what to do next.

That's what a Home Base Group is.

Not a monthly consultation meeting where you show up, present a case to strangers, and leave. This is a consistent, small circle of therapists who become your ride-or-die partners through the scariest moments of this profession.

These are the people who know your practice, your values, your struggles. Who celebrate when you finally break through with that stuck client. Who hold space when the teenager you've worked with for two years gets taken into foster care because of a report you made. Who understand what it means when a client you've loved for years receives a terminal cancer diagnosis—and who are still there when that client dies.

This is what you're investing in: relationships that take time to build and change everything once you have them.

You'll meet monthly for 60 minutes via video—facilitated by a clinical supervisor in a confidential, emotionally safe space. We match you with therapists who share your interests, orientations, and goals so you're with people who truly get you.

But here's what makes this different: Between meetings, you stay connected. You crowd source tough dilemmas. You reach out when you need real-time guidance before taking action on something that scares you.

These aren't just colleagues. They become your people. The ones who witness your wins and your losses. Who laugh at therapist jokes no one else understands. Who see you, know you, and show up for you.

Relationships like this don't happen overnight. They require showing up. Investing. Committing to wanting them. But when you grow them? Everything changes.

You stop making decisions scared and alone. You stop carrying the weight by yourself. You stop risking your license, your wellbeing, and your clients' safety because you have no one to call.

This is belonging. This is safety. This is what saves you when things get hard.

And things will get hard. But you won't face them alone anymore.

Reconnecting With Your Passion: Through Growth

CEUs That Actually Make You Excited About Your Work Again

You've been practicing for years now. Maybe a decade. Maybe two.

And somewhere along the way, continuing education became... a chore. Something to get through. A requirement you resent every time your license renewal comes around.

So you click through some generic webinar about a topic you'll never use. You half-listen while checking email. You download your certificate and forget everything within a week.

But here's what's actually happening: You're becoming disconnected.

From the evolution of our profession. From new research that's transforming how we understand healing. From possibilities you haven't even considered yet. From the excitement that made you choose this work in the first place.

This is a growing, evolving field—and you're stuck consuming outdated content that treats you like a box to check instead of a professional who deserves to be engaged, inspired, and challenged.

You need CEUs that make you lean forward, not zone out.

Inside the Growth Collective, we create continuing education experiences that are actually worth your time. Training that's connected to how our industry is genuinely evolving. Content that's useful, interesting, and designed with YOUR growth at the center—not just your ability to serve clients better.

We focus on what most CEU providers ignore: your wellbeing, your professional development, your practice success, your self-efficacy as a therapist.

Ethics that aren't boring. Practice-building strategies that work in today's landscape. Professional development that makes you see new possibilities for your career.

This is learning that lights you up again. That reminds you why you love this work. That feeds your passion instead of draining it.

Your growth isn't a box to check. It's how you stay alive in this profession.

Ready for learning that lights you up again? Let's talk.

A Generous Referral Network: For Private Practice Success

A Referral Network That Pays for Itself (And Then Some)

Let's talk about something concrete, that therapists hate talking about: money. Making a living. Being compensated for your work.

There is a very real economic cost to going it alone, above and beyond the mental and emotional toll it takes, measured in dollars and cents.

Here's what nobody tells you about building a private practice:

You can be brilliant at your work. You can have impeccable training. You can offer exactly what clients desperately need.

But if you don't have a referral network, you're invisible. And building that network when you're isolated in solo practice? Nearly impossible.

So you stay stuck. Taking insurance because you need the referrals, even though it's burning you out. Accepting clients who aren't quite right because at least it's income. Staying in an agency or group practice with a punishing workload because at least it provides you with reliable income.

Therapists are vulnerable "practice coaches" that sell hope. You can spend thousands on marketing. You can hustle on Psychology Today. You can try to "build your brand" on social media.

There's a better way. And it's shockingly simple.

Build authentic relationships with a network of generous, high-integrity therapists who want to lift each other up. Who refer clients that are perfect for your niche. Who say to their clients: "This is your person" and send a warm introduction email.

Here's the math that matters:

One quality referral from a trusted colleague becomes a long-term client. That client pays you, conservatively, $150/session. They stay with you for a year (50 sessions). That's $7,500.

One referral. $7,500.

Now imagine being part of a community where you're building authentic relationships with dozens of successful therapists who love referring clients that aren't quite right for them but are perfect for you.

This isn't theoretical. This is what happens inside the Growth Collective.

We stand for collaboration, not competition. No gatekeeping. Just real relationships with professionals who want to see you succeed.

When you have a client who isn't right for you, you send them to someone you actually know and trust—not some random name from a directory. When your colleagues have a client who's perfect for your niche, they think of you first.

The financial benefit of this alone covers your membership cost several times over. Get one great referral—just one—and the Growth Collective pays for itself for months. Get multiple? You're building the practice you've been dreaming of.

This is the fastest, most ethical, most effective way to fill your practice with ideal clients who already want to work with you before you even meet them.

Ready to build your network? Let's start the conversation.

Real-World Guidance + Mentorship That Carries You Forward

Remember When You Weren't Alone?

Let's talk about what nobody tells you in grad school:

Getting licensed means losing your support system.

All those supervisors who checked in on you? Gone. That cohort who understood your struggles? Scattered. The guidance, the community, the feeling of being held as you navigated this harrowing profession? Over.

You're suddenly expected to have it all figured out. Alone.

And here's the cruel choice you face: Stay in an agency where you at least have colleagues (even if the environment is toxic, the pay is terrible, and the burnout is real). Or go into private practice and trade those human connections for autonomy—and total isolation.

But what if that wasn't the only choice?

What if you could build a thriving private practice AND have the meaningful support and guidance you had when you were training?

The Growth Collective gives you both.

Real support for real struggles:

Private Practice Success Coaching with a therapist who's built a successful practice and actually wants to help you build yours. Every month you can bring your business challenges, your stuck points, your "I have no idea how to do this" moments. Get clarity, strategy, and someone who believes in you.

Monthly Case Consultation that goes deep—complex cases, ethical dilemmas, transference/countertransference, self-of-therapist work. The kind of clinical supervision that makes you better at what you do, led by an experienced clinical supervisor who's been there.

A community that shows up—not just for networking, not faceless handles on a message board, but face-to-face conversations and genuine connection with people who understand the weight of this work.

This is the support system you lost. We're giving it back.

Let's explore whether this is right for you.

Let's get to know each other.

Let us know a little about yourself. We'll follow up to welcome you, and give you a tour.

This could be the turning point for your entire career trajectory.

If you've been struggling to get a private practice off the ground, feeling alone, and wondering if this career is sustainable, you are in the right place.

First, hear this: it's not just you. For years, I watched brilliant, loving therapists burn out. Not because they weren't good at their work—but because they were doing it completely alone. I've been there, too.

No real consultation. No authentic community. No meaningful growth opportunities. No one to talk to about the hard stuff—not just difficult cases, but career struggles, business challenges, and the toll this work takes on your life.

Solving that problem was the origin story of my practice, Growing Self. The Therapist Growth Collective is my way of extending that same support to all therapists who need it.

If you're interested in joining us, it starts with a conversation. Connect with me and other clinicians exploring this option for a low-key, friendly conversation to talk about.

  • What you're experiencing right now (the overwhelm, the isolation, the exhaustion)
  • What real support could look like in your career
  • How the Growth Collective works and who it serves
  • Whether this feels like the professional home you've been looking for

If it feels right, I'll invite you to join us for a complimentary month—no strings attached.

You weren't meant to do this alone. Let's find out if we're your people.

Grab a time from the calendar below, and we'll see you soon.

Lisa Marie Bobby, PhD, LP, LMFT, BCC — Founder of Growing Self

The Struggle is Real.

For years (seven, to be exact) I was a solo private practitioner, floating alone in the world. The robust support system of grad school and supervision long gone, I was on my own.

Crying after an intense session with nobody to talk to. Stifling the anxiety of imposter syndrome. Hours researching and thinking through tough cases on my own. Trying to get a private practice off the ground by trial and error (mostly error). It was hard.

Somehow, organically, therapists started arriving at Growing Self, wanting to work together. As the years passed, my one-woman band turned into a thriving group practice with dozens of therapists.

We were there for clients, but the well-being of therapists came first: For years, Growing Self has provided support groups, case consultation, private practice success coaching, clinical supervision, continuing ed, specialized trainings, coach credentialing, shared resources, client referrals, and a community of love.

With our industry becoming increasingly harrowing for therapists, I decided it was time to fling open the doors.

All therapists are now welcome to join in the Growing Self growth collective experience.

This is a space where you belong. It is devoted to your wellbeing. If you'd like to join me in this, let's connect.
