Beyond Mindfulness: How Therapists Can Use Hypnosis to Transform Client Outcomes
Therapists, we have a blindspot.
One of the most powerful tools for emotional healing, pain relief, and behavior change has been sitting quietly in the corner, misunderstood and ignored by so many of us.
We’ve all seen the stage-show stereotypes. The pocket watch. The clucking like a chicken.
But here’s the truth: Hypnosis is not a parlor trick. It’s one of the oldest and most rigorously studied forms of Western psychotherapy. And it works.
Used correctly, it can help clients shift deeply entrenched patterns, calm overactive nervous systems, improve sleep, manage chronic pain, reduce anxiety, and reinforce therapeutic gains.
And yet… most licensed mental health professionals have never been taught how it works, when to use it, or how to talk about it with clients.
This training helps you meet that moment with knowledge, confidence, and clear clinical boundaries.
Dr. David Spiegel has spent over 45 years studying and practicing clinical hypnosis. He’s published over 450 scientific articles and 13 books on the subject. His work has helped bring clinical hypnosis out of the shadows and into the light of rigorous, peer-reviewed science.
In this 1-hour CEU-accredited training, he’ll share what every therapist needs to understand about the real science behind hypnosis and its transformative potential for addressing various mental and physical health challenges.
In this session, you’ll learn:
How hypnosis enhances the mind-body connection and promotes neuroplasticity, enabling lasting behavioral and psychological change through focused attention and visualization
The clinically proven uses of hypnosis for stress relief, pain management, addiction, sleep challenges, performance anxiety, and habit change - supported by decades of research
What distinguishes clinical hypnosis from other therapeutic approaches, and why it offers immediate, impactful relief for various conditions
How digital innovations are making therapeutic hypnosis more accessible and affordable than ever before
Why This Matters
People are facing unprecedented levels of stress, mental health challenges, perhaps even an unwanted habit, and today’s therapists can champion this side-effect free practice to help them find relief and achieve their goals.
This live CEU-accredited event is for licensed mental health professionals who:
Want to deepen their clinical toolkit with research-backed, somatically-informed techniques.
Are curious (but cautious) about hypnosis and want to understand the science.
Are committed to safe, ethical, and impactful client care that supports lasting change.
Whether you’re a total skeptic, mildly curious, or already integrating somatic tools into your work, this training will challenge, educate, and inspire you.
