Coaching Certification,
For Therapists
The only BCC-accredited coaching certification built exclusively for licensed therapists ready to pivot into energizing, productive coaching β without risking their license.
"Half my clients don't need therapy. I've been dabbling in "coaching," but I'm not sure I'm actually doing it right. What are the boundaries here? Is this okay?"
β What keeps therapists up at night
Coaching Is Not Therapy Without a Diagnosis
Many therapists assume clinical training translates to coaching. It doesn't. Coaching much less like therapy than most therapists believe it is. Coaching is a distinct discipline with its own competencies, ethics, evidence base, and framework.
Coaching isn't regulated... but therapists like us are. Without formal training, you're in an ethical gray area that could cost you everything. And generic programs? They're built for civilians β not clinicians like us.
This program is different. Built by therapists, exclusively for therapists. It bridges your clinical expertise with evidence-based coaching psychology.
What Happens When Therapists Add Coaching
A complementary skillset that transforms your practice, income, and energy.
7 Modules. 30 Hours. Real Competence.
Evidence-based coaching psychology, through a therapist's lens.
How to Become a Board-Certified Coach
The BCC is the gold standard credential for licensed therapists who coach. Here's the path from where you are now to Board Certified Coach.
The BCC credential is awarded by the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE), a division of NBCC β the same organization behind your counseling credentials. Unlike ICF, the BCC recognizes credentialed professionals and existing clinical education, allowing you to become a fully credentialed BCC through a 30 hour training program (rather than a 60 hour ICF program.)
Most BCC applicants piece together training from multiple sources over years. This program is designed to take you from Step 1 through Step 4 in a single, structured experience. The Expert Experience tier includes supervised coaching hours, so you graduate with both education and contact hours complete β ready to sit for the exam immediately.
Licensed therapists with a master's degree qualify for the 30-hour education track, rather than the 60 or 120-hour requirement for non-clinicians. Your clinical training counts.
Do You Meet the BCC Eligibility Requirements?

The Board Certified Coach (BCC) is the most prestigious and respected coaching credential for a reasonβit has standards.
Prerequisite criteria that must be met. A rigorous application process. Ongoing credential maintenance requirements.
Can you qualify? What's your pathway? What is involved in the credentialing process?Β
I'll send you all the details straight from the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE)βso you can make fully informed decisions.
What Therapists Say
The first program that acknowledged my clinical training instead of making me start from zero. Respected from day one.
The ethics module alone was worth the investment. Complete clarity about the boundary between therapy and coaching.
Three coaching clients within a month of the practicum. The Expert Experience pays for itself.
Dr. Bobby is a licensed psychologist, marriage and family therapist, board-certified coach, and clinical supervisor with 20+ years of experience. She founded Growing Self Counseling and Coaching, a robust group practice specializing in non-clinical issues like growth, love, happiness and success. After watching therapists struggle to succeed in private practice without coaching competencies (and observing the lack of high quality coach training appropriate for licensed therapists) she launched the Coaching Certification For Therapists program, for you.

This program is the only one of it's kind, fully accredited by the National Board for Certified Counselors to award the BCC credential that is exclusively for licensed mental health professionals. To be considered for this program you must be either: a Nationally Certified Counselor, have a Master's degree or Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, have a Doctorate in a related field (such as Clinical Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy), or be a fully licensed mental health professional. (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LP, etc.) This 30-hour program awards credit for existing education.
The BCC is awarded by CCE, a division of NBCC. ICF is for laypeople β it doesn't cover dual relationships, mandatory reporting, or therapist-specific ethics. BCC aligns with your existing professional standards. Because the ICF is intended for lay people, it requires a minimum of 60 hours of coach training, covering topics therapists already know front, back, and sideways, like open ended questions and reflective listening. The BCC allows prerequisite credit for licensed mental health professionals, so you can attain your coaching credential through a 30 hour program like ours.
